Safety

1. What must be observed when illuminating damp areas (bathroom etc.)?

Bathrooms place higher requirements with respect to safety than other living spaces. Luminaires that are installed in particular areas of the bathroom need to be approved for damp areas, i.e. they must be well protected against water and dampness. The respective protection class provides information on this topic. The two letters IP are followed by two digits. These specify the degree of protection of the luminaire with respect to foreign bodies (first digit) and humidity (second digit).
