Our wall luminaires are available with different beam angles (30°, 60° and 100°).

Depending on the size of the room and the desired effect, you can choose between focussed accent light and soft area lighting:

  • 30° - focussed light for targeted accents
    Ideal for highlighting works of art, niches or objects.
  • 60° - The all-rounder for zone lighting
    For uniform light along corridors or in living areas.
  • 100° - Wide-area light distribution for indirect light to the ceiling or for illuminating walls, cabinets and shelves.
    For wide-area, soft ambient lighting without harsh shadows.

Here we answer the most important questions about wall lighting – to help you plan your lighting with confidence.

Wall lights create targeted lighting zones, provide direct or indirect illumination, and highlight architecture. They are an ideal complement to ceiling lights – especially in hallways, living or dining rooms, and as reading or bedside lighting.

Typical positions are: next to the bed, along corridors, next to mirrors and as an accent light or reading light in the living room. The mounting height varies depending on the intended use.

The right positioning and mounting height depends on the room and intended use. Here are common applications and recommendations:

a) Beside the bed (e.g., as a reading light):

  • Mounting height: approx. 110–120 cm from floor level
  • Distance from bed edge: approx. 20–30 cm to the side or centered above the nightstand

b) In hallways / for orientation:

  • Mounting height: approx. 160–170 cm from the floor

c) Beside or above mirrors (e.g., in bathrooms or dressing areas):

  • Next to the mirror: approx. 150–160 cm (roughly eye level)
  • Above or on the mirror: approx. 180–200 cm, depending on mirror height

d) As ambient lighting in living spaces:

  • Mounting height: approx. 150–170 cm, depending on room height and furnishings
Recommended with dimmable LED technology and a wide beam angle (e.g., 60° or 100°).

Yes, BRUCK wall lights are dimmable. This requires a phase dimmer that is suitable for dimming LEDs. Alternatively, the light can be controlled using an app or push-button via radio (Bluetooth) with an optionally available Casambi module. This allows the light to be customised.

Yes – the BRUCK wall lights BLOP 3D and TUTO II are part of modular series and can be combined with matching pendant, ceiling, and spotlight fixtures. The wall lights SCOBO and CRANNY are not part of a series – but are still universally compatible with other BRUCK luminaires and BRUCK track systems.

For living areas, we recommend warm white light (2700–3000 K), as it creates a pleasant atmosphere. For hallways or workspaces, neutral white light at 4000 K can also be appropriate.

Yes – BRUCK offers wall light models with an up-&-downlight effect, which creates an atmospheric ambiance and highlights architectural features.

Downlight luminaires
emit targeted downward light - e.g. as reading light in the living room or bedroom, for targeted corridor path lighting or for accentuated wall lighting. They create a clear beam of light and direct the light to where it is needed. For example SCOBO DOWN LV W

Up-&-downlight luminaires
emit light both upwards and downwards. The result is an atmospheric, symmetrical lighting effect on the wall - suitable for area staging, in corridors, living areas or as a design element in modern room concepts. For example SCOBO UP+DOWN LV W or CRANNY.

Absolutely. All BRUCK models use modern LED technology, which is long-lasting and energy-saving – for sustainable lighting design.

Yes – many models are available in different finishes, such as aluminum, black, white, or black champagne.

You have a 5-year guarantee on the LED. If the LED fails during this period, we will replace the LED for you free of charge at the factory. After this period, the LED can be replaced for a fee.
